Progress Update: New Features/Bug Fixes (12th may 2004)

Postby Marc G » Wed May 12, 2004 2:28 pm

The following new features will be included in the next release:
  • The ShellEnhancer backend is completely rewritten and because of this the "Serious Error" messageboxes are gone.
  • Lock windows, so you cannot move/resize them anymore.
  • Enhanced Alt+Tab TaskSwitcher Changes:
    • Ability to scroll through the icons with the mousewheel.
    • Truncate window titles to user defined length.
    • Option to hide the banner in Enhanced TaskSwitcher when visual styles are not used.
    • Option to display alt-tab tasks as a "list" rather than icons
    • Option to change the font-size of the alttab text.
  • A new task command: "Confirmation Dialog".
  • Change Transparency when hovering the mouse above on of the window-buttons (minimize, maximize and close button of a window)
  • Truncate window titles in the ShellEnhancer menu + AltTab dialog to a user defined length.
  • Change Windows Taskbar transparency when mouse is hovering above it.
  • Change the order/visibility of the extra menu items in the system/window menus.
  • Priority submenu in system/window menus. This allows you to quickly change the priority of the process owning that window.
  • Show system/window menu when right clicking on tray icon of window that is minimized to tray.
  • Option to allow left click on tray icon to open settings window instead of menu.
The following bugs have been fixed for the next release:
  • Register dialog is not shown anymore on the first run of ShellEnhancer, but when you close ShellEnhancer for the first time.
  • X-Window style moving/resizing didn't worked when grabbing the window above a scrollbar.
  • Better crash reporting.
  • When you have a hotkey task to minimize the active window to the systemtray and you press that hotkey while the Windows taskbar has focus, the whole windows taskbar will disappear.
  • Windows explorer could be X-Window-resized to 0x0.
  • The multiline textboxes did not auto-wrap (for example in the register/bug-report dialogs).
  • Setting window is by default a bit bigger.

Yes, but it still needs a bit of testing/tweaking because of the complete rewrite of the ShellEnhancer backend. There are still some compatibility issues that needs to be solved.
