Requirements
Wallpaper Cycler runs on Windows XP, 2003 and Vista.
Wallpaper Cycler 3.x requires that you have at least
Internet Explorer 4.0. If you don't have this
you can always get the latest version of Internet Explorer from
http://www.microsoft.com.
If you are experiencing problems, check out the
Known Issues page or use the support
links on this page.
Running Wallpaper Cycler on Windows 95
Windows 95 is not officially supported anymore. On Windows 95, you might need to download
and install
50comupd.exe. If you don't then
certain things will not work and might even lead to a crash of Wallpaper
Cycler. For example adding an image to a category would make the program
crash if you do not have this installed. If you experience such problems,
please see known issues
to download this update.
Windows 95 users will also need to install WinSock 2. You can do this
by following these steps:
Part 1: Install Dial-Up Networking
- Insert the Microsoft Windows 95 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
drive.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Windows Setup
tab.
- Click Communications (but do not click to clear the check box), and
then click Details.
- Click to select the Dial-Up Networking check box, click OK, and then
click OK.
- When you are prompted, type the computer and workgroup names in the
appropriate boxes on the Identification tab, and then click Close.
Part 2: Install TCP/IP
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network, and then click the Configuration tab.
- If TCP/IP is not in the list:
- Click Add, click Protocol, and then click Add.
- Under Manufacturers, click Microsoft, click TCP/IP in the right pane
under Network Protocols, and then click OK.
- Click OK, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the
computer.
Part 3: Install Winsock 2 Update
Download the WinSock 2 update for Windows 95 from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WUAdminTools/S_WUNetworkingTools/W95Sockets2/Default.asp
The file is called W95ws2setup.exe, so if the above link doesn't work
anymore, search
http://www.microsoft.com for this file.
Install this update.
