You can read the announcement <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/somasegar\/archive\/2014\/05\/28\/first-preview-of-visual-studio-quot-14-quot-available-now.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">on Soma&#8217;s blog<\/a>. Visual Studio &#8220;14&#8221; will most likely be available sometime in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> This is a CTP release, thus it should be installed in a test environment, such as a VM or a clean machine. Do not install on a machine with another version of Visual Studio installed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Specifically for C++, there are quite a few improvements, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generalized lambda capture<\/li>\n<li>User-defined literals in the language and standard library<\/li>\n<li>Completed noexcept<\/li>\n<li>Inline namespaces<\/li>\n<li>Thread-safe &#8220;magic&#8221; statics<\/li>\n<li>Unrestricted unions<\/li>\n<li>All November 2013 compiler CTP features<\/li>\n<li>Null forward iterators<\/li>\n<li>quoted()<\/li>\n<li>Heterogeneous associative lookup<\/li>\n<li>integer_sequence<\/li>\n<li>exchange()<\/li>\n<li>get()<\/li>\n<li>Dual-range equal(), is_permutation(), mismatch()<\/li>\n<li>tuple_element_t<\/li>\n<li>Filesystem &#8220;V3&#8221; Technical Specification (TS)<\/li>\n<li>Object file size reductions<\/li>\n<li>Debug checking fixes<\/li>\n<li>Create declaration or definition<\/li>\n<li>Native memory diagnostics<\/li>\n<li>Refactored C Runtime (CRT): This CTP contains the first preview of the substantially refactored CRT. msvcr140.dll no longer exists.
