It comes with a host of IDE and performance improvements. For C++ developers, here are some new features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li class=\"\">Save time when writing C++ and XAML code by using <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++\" target=\"_blank\">Visual Studio IntelliCode<\/a>, an optional extension that gives AI-assisted recommendations for your code.<\/li><li>Experience in-editor code analysis warnings. Code analysis runs <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++Prod\" target=\"_blank\">automatically in the background<\/a> and warnings display as green squiggles.<\/li><li>Try the new <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++Prod\" target=\"_blank\">Template Bar<\/a>, which uses the Peek Window UI and supports nested templates.<\/li><li>Run the new, updated implementation of the C++ <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++Prod\" target=\"_blank\">Lifetime profile checker<\/a>.<\/li><li>Configure your CMake projects using the new <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++CMake\" target=\"_blank\">CMake Settings Editor<\/a>, which provides an alternative to CMakeSettings.json.<\/li><li>Try out a host of backend improvements including <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/releases\/2019\/release-notes#C++Backend\" target=\"_blank\">OpenMP SIMD vectorization<\/a>, link-time speedups, and more aggressive inlining.<\/li><li>Open existing CMake caches generated by external tools, such as CMakeGUI, or customized meta-build systems.<\/li><li>Improve analysis with \/Qspectre for providing mitigation assistance for Spectre Variant 1 (<a href=\"https:\/\/cve.mitre.org\/cgi-bin\/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2017-5753\" target=\"_blank\">CVE-2017-5753<\/a>).
