{"id":897,"date":"2012-02-20T09:24:35","date_gmt":"2012-02-20T08:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nuonsoft.com\/blog\/?p=897"},"modified":"2012-02-20T09:24:35","modified_gmt":"2012-02-20T08:24:35","slug":"new-windows-logo-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nuonsoft.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/20\/new-windows-logo-unveiled\/","title":{"rendered":"New Windows Logo Unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft unveiled the new Windows 8 logo, which follows the clean styling guidelines of the Metro design principles.<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nuonsoft.com\/images\/blog\/Windows_8_logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"116\" style=\"border:none\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nAccording to the design team:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With Windows 8, we approached the logo redesign with a few key goals on mind.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We wanted the new logo to be both modern and classic by echoing the International Typographic Style (or Swiss design) that has been a great influence on our Metro style design philosophy. Using bold flat colors and clean lines and shapes, the new logo has the characteristics of way-finding design systems seen in airports and subways.<\/li>\n<li>It was important that the new logo carries our Metro principle of being \u201cAuthentically Digital\u201d. By that, we mean it does not try to emulate faux-industrial design characteristics such as materiality (glass, wood, plastic, etc.). It has motion \u2013 aligning with the fast and fluid style you\u2019ll find throughout Windows 8.<\/li>\n<li>Our final goal was for the new logo to be humble, yet confident. Welcoming you in with a slight tilt in perspective and when you change your color, the logo changes to reflect you.
