HowTo: Render News Headlines On Your Desktop
(Not available in the Lite version)
You need to create a new layout or
edit an existing layout and then perform the following steps:
- Create a new text object by clicking on "Objects > Add Text
Object" and draw a rectangle on your layout where you want your
headlines.
- Select your newly created text object by clicking on it.
- In the properties bar on the right of the window, find the
property "Text" and click on "Edit..." which will open the text editor.
- Click the last button on the toolbar, choose "Feeds", choose
the desired feed, choose "News Item 0" and finally click on
"Title". This will insert a command in your text that will be
replaced by Wallpaper Cycler with the first headline of the chosen
feed. Learn more about
the format of feed commands.
- Repeat step 4 to add headlines for "News Item 1", "News Item
2", ... You can also edit the command directly in the text editor
by modifying the parameters for the %feeditem:x;x;x% command.
- (optional) change the formatting of your text.
- Click "OK", close the layout editor and test your new
layout.
